Clandestine Cake Club – Kilburn
June 12, 2011 9:25 am in London by Lynn Hill - CCC Founder
Kerstin Rodgers very kindly offered to host a CCC event at her Underground Restaurant in Kilburn.
I didn’t exactly count, but there was a very nice little group of about 18-19 people, plus Kerstin, Myself, Jennifer from Woman’s Hour and Sarah - our invaluable help and Tea maker for the day, and about 13 cakes. All very keen bakers and lovers of all things cake. All the cakes were different in many ways, although with a theme ‘Cake Porn’, chocolate cakes were much in evidence. Yet each one had different flavours and coverings, including one with Bounty Bars on top and one with a Salted Caramel Filling. All delicious.
Cakes in abundance with some wonderful chocolate cakes
- Jane, one of our baking members, being interviewed by Radio 4 Woman’s Hour
- Cheese Cake and Naughty Chocolate & Caramel Cake
- The Aftermath – crumbs
- Bunt tins
If you fancy joining us at our next event in London – Kentish Town on 2nd July please contact Elly and get your place booked.

Oh this was such fun. Mine was the salty caramel one. Here’s the recipe http://theboywhobakes.co.uk/2011/05/sweet-and-salty-cake/
I substituted dulce con leche for the caramel filling. and I only made half the ganache and still have loads of it. Do come round with a spoon to help….
