I have declared that this is the year of the Cake. We are ravenous, we are Rocking, we are Rolling in the isles. We want cake and plenty of it. Bring me your Swiss Rolls, your Musical cakes but not your Rock Buns.

Wear your blue swede shoes if you wish, or your ‘DA’ of a hairstyle ( an extra slice of cake if you can tell me what ‘DA’ stands for)

Venue

We return to one of our favourite ‘Gourmet’ ( there’s a clue) haunts. Housed in a landmark historic building in Leeds City centre. Here we will spread our cakes out on the balcony, under the impressive historic ceiling often best seen in the evening with the twinkling lights under the glass roof.
Nick and his staff will be there to serve us all sorts of great things to drink, with some ‘Gourmet’ savouries as well if we wish. Leeds people are great when it comes to supporting its independent producers.

Points to remember.

Each cake must be large enough to slice into around 8 – 12 good slices. Sorry, but No cupcakes, Muffins, Brownies, Cookies, Pies or Tarts.
Home-bakers and professional bakers can join in. It’s not a competition, no judging, just a lot of fun. And you get to take cake home!
