Durham Dales: Working 9 – 5-what a way to make a livin’
January 9, 2013 7:05 pm in Durham Dales by Charlie
It wasn’t long after our December Homley Christmas event that Durham Dales CCC recieved a phone call from Teesdale Mercury asking if they could run an article on us.
How could we refuse?!
So I hurriedly found a venue and decided upon a theme
Oh one thing I may have forgot was bakers -oops!
I stuck the event on the CCC website and waited- it was last minute- just a few days notice.
I was inspired for a moment and decided to ask the people in the venue if they would bake- they loved the idea and did not disappoint
We met in Bede House in Newton Aycliffe a multi-use rented office space (which I happen to work in)
It was an after work event on a very snowy cold evening and although the radio was telling us roads were terrible all the businesses stayed behind for this cake club event.
We had four wonderful cakes
* A beautiful Lemon cake filled with lemon curd
* A coffee clock cake
*An Earl grey cake with Earl Grey icing
*Cinnamon and Drunken Fruit
A week later we were in the Teesdale Mercury with a wonderful newspaper report and a great pic of everyone there!
Here’s to 2013 and our events including
Fabulous Fifties -which is already fully booked!
February- Book Launch and Cake Love
and our Birthday Bonanza in March
We are also planning on having an event or two in Teesdale and Weardale- so watch this space!
