South Lancashire CCC – We ‘heart’ cake (& meet the WI) 14th February 2013
February 17, 2013 7:38 pm in South Lancashire by Sue
Our February theme was a love event as we had our cake club on Valentines Day.
We also had a cake club with a difference as for this event we went along to a local WI meeting in Buckshaw Village on the outskirts of Chorley. The meeting was held in the evening, it started with a rendition of Jerusalem followed by WI business.
This was followed by a talk about ’Making Marmalade’ by what can only be described as a very knowledgeable and very entertaining guest speaker.
Lindsey gave everyone the low down on Clandestine Cake Clubs and the recipe book that came out on the 14th as well.
This event was not well supported by our usual CCC bakers (we think everyone was romancing the evening away), we had just TWO bakers and one guest, luckily the WI members did us proud, they baked an amazing range of cakes, everyone of the cakes made was superb and even WI members who could not make it sent in a cake with a friend.
Many thanks to the president and members of Buckshaw WI for welcoming us so warmly.
And…on the day the official CCC Recipe book is launched congratulations to Carla and Lindsey from South Lancs CCC who both have recipes in the book.
