Saltaire – Around The World in 80 Days
Date: 22/11/2012
Time: 7pm - 9pm
Theme: Around The World in 80 Days
According to Wikipedia, the story goes something like this ... Phileas Fogg is a rich English gentleman who gets involved in an argument over an article in The Daily Telegraph, stating that with the opening of a new railway section in India, it is now possible to travel around the world in 80 days. He accepts a wager for £20,000 from his fellow club members, which he will receive if he makes it around the world in 80 days.., but for our cake event, choose a cake that represents any country or city that takes your fancy ....
Venue: Baildon
Additional venue info: I am delighted to have been offered the opportunity to hold our event at this lovely emporium of fine food and drink in the heart of Baildon village. We will be able to purchase tea, coffee, alcohol and cold drinks here and hope that you will support our hosts who are opening up especially for us. The venue is not within reasonable walking distance of a train station so best to plan to come by car. There is plenty of parking in nearby car parks and surrounding streets.
