Meet the Organiser

One by one I shall be putting faces to names of our CCC organisers. They do a fabulous job in finding Clandestine Venues, booking your places, keeping the Bakers, Cakes and Guests happy, whilst making sure you all get to take cake home.

Many of them have full time/part time jobs, or other activities. But their love of baking, accompanied with their natural organisational skills enables them to find time to create a monthly event for you all to enjoy. Without them CCC would not be as popular as it is. If you want to become one of them read Organise a Clandestine Cake Club

A big thank you to them all -

Lynn Hill – (CCC Founder)

Mel – King’s Lynn Norfolk

I am the organiser of the King’s Lynn group and, along with my husband, I own and run an award winning cookshop www.cooktoperfection.co.uk.  I only got into baking properly when we opened the shop 4 years ago because I wanted to try all our lovely baking products for myself.  My skills are limited, but ambitiously I have made a couple of wedding cakes for family, which turned out amazingly well!  The best thing about being an organiser is seeing how creative everyone gets with their cakes.   Join me on twitter @cook2perfection.

Rachel White is the organiser for the Stoneygate and Knighton group. She runs her own business baking cakes for local cafe’s and deli’s and when she’s not working with cake she’s socialising with it!! Why not join the Stoneygate and Knighton group and come along to one of their friendly cakey gatherings.

Janet Currie runs the Loughborough group with her sister Anne. ‘Anne’s the enthusiastic baker – I really enjoy the creative event management – finding themes, places to meet and promoting them’. Janet works in the arts and recently edited Make Your Creativity Pay a book for creative people, and runs courses from her home for people who make and do things – including bakers.

David our organiser in Cardiff, has arranged is first event for January 2012. With plans to set up his own Tea Room and a blog  I want to bake free, his baking skills are perfect for a Cake Club like ours. I’m sure all the bakers and guests will pick up some great baking tips from David.

Helen, a very talented Cake Decorator, has set up CCC – St Helens in Nov 2011. Her website, Casa Costello is simply full of…… you guessed it, cakes. Go check it out.

Miss Sue Flay was one of our earliest Cake Club organisers outside CCC HQ and since her first event in April 2011 she has gone on to have yet further success in August. Her very busy life involves a full time job along with her very successful events business with The Secluded Tea Party

Gwyn Brock is our Manchester organiser and has been organising monthly events since July. Gwyn also runs a very successful underground tea room called Vintage Afternoon Teas from her home where everything she serves is home made.

Lisa Vincent is our organiser in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Since Lisa started organising her events in July 2011, many of the more recent ones have been featured in the local media. Lisa also has a very popular blog called The Wonderful World of @loopygirl

Ellie Michell became our Cornwall Organiser back in August 2011, where her first event in October was very quickly filled with bakers and guests alike. Ellie works for the very successful, award winning PR Company Barefoot Media

Julia England is our organiser for Derby and her first event in October, with her Trick or Treat theme, was a success. Julia has a very popular foodie blog called  A Wannabee Foodie

Jane Huntley and Sue Easton, both very keen bakers, decided to put their heads together in August 2011 and run the Sth Lancashire CCC. As you can see from the picture, they were very popular guests on BBC Radio Lancashire where I understand their cakes went down a treat. Have a look at Jane’s cakes on her blog More Cake Please and Sue’s baking blog  A Little Bit of Heaven on a Plate
