On Sunday 13 May 2018 the Belfast Clandestine Cake Club met up at the DayToday shop in St George’s Market where Margaret was a great host setting us up a lovely table for 6 and served great coffee and teas and soft drinks.
As it was my first event we went with a low stress theme of Easy bakes and Go to cakes so we each baked something that we know we can whip up with no bother. That being said everyone’s bakes were so good that I found it hard to believe that they were just thrown together in a jiffy. the cakes were:
Jacqui – Mini sultana sponges and jammy joeys
Amy – Lemon drizzle cake
Janet (guest)- Raspberry brownies
Faye – Cherry bakewell cake (with cranberry sauce secret ingredient)
Elena – Rhubarb yogurt cake (with ingredients measured by the yogurt tub).
Clare – “6 egg special” sponge with strawberries and cream.
We had a lovely afternoon enjoying cake and live music on a sunny Sunday afternoon before agreeing to do it all again on Sunday 1 June.
