Seven bakers spiced up their baking for the November meeting of the Stamford Clandestine Cake Club. We welcomed Ellen to the group for the first time, having seen us online!
Our meeting was held at a great pub, The White Hart in Ufford which is just outside Stamford. The staff had set aside the “Pantry” – a warm and sophisticated private part of the pub, with beautiful flowers left on the table. We ensured that we left a large cake plate for the team at The White Hart as we’d love to return again!
The hot topic of conversation was, of course, the Great British Bake Off final and winner – what recipe works and what doesn’t! Oh and my co-organiser Anthea having her baby. Baby Catherine was not present at our meeting but Anthea enjoyed having some quality time with cake.
Everyone had taken great thought over their cake and the spices they’d used – from chilli to cinnamon. New baker Ellen had baked a vegan-friendly cake (truly delicious!), which had me thinking about another theme for another month… The best part was they were all delicious!
