Our first event – Cake Cornucopia

Sharing is caring!

On Saturday 11th December 2010, we Baked, Ate and Talked about Cake. A few people cancelled due to ill health and other sudden family commitments. But the few that came tell me they had a great time and as far as I’m concerned it was a success.

The inflatable parrot on the door vetted all entries to make sure no Cookies, Muffins, Brownies or Cupcakes entered the premises. This was all about Cake.

Twitter feeds told me that people were practising their baking skills and becoming very competitive. But I kept saying that this isn’t a competition. But they kept on practising. As a result we had some wonderful delicious cakes to sample.

I went to collect a club member and her cake and travel to the venue together. But upon my arrival at her house, I encountered a very sorry looking Rachel who’s first words to me were ‘ Lynn I’ve dropped my Cake’.

I would like to thank Nicola of The Culture Company for allowing us to use her place of work for our first event. And Emma of The Culture Vulture for introducing me to Nicola.

I leave you with these wonderful pictures taken by Chris Kemm to whom I am very grateful. And my thanks to all those who took the time to bake and attend. We had fun didn’t we.
